Summer 2001, visiting family in Ocean City, NJ. My nieces wanted a sand sculpture of the Magic Kingdom’s
September 9, 2001 at the Jersey Shore (Ocean City, NJ):
When making a sand castle with your nieces, ya gotta make something they like – and considering they were just to Disney World last Spring, the Magic Kingdom, Cinderella’s castle was their unanimous choice!
Construction: Starting with 2 eager (well, eager to play in the holes I made!) nieces, and a willing brother in law, we made a 4 ft tall pile of wet sand! Not the 16 month old (Laura) in the moat, assisting in it’s construction. (We called it the Great Yellow River)
As the castle rose, it began to take rough shape – always shape and carve from the top down!
Here I am working on the back side of the castle. The nieces were busy enjoying the waves appearing in the moat!
Anna and Krista by the finished castle!
